Thermoguard Smoke & Flame Retardant SFR Dualcoat is a specialist decorative fire retardant topcoat designed for timber and wood-based surfaces protected with Thermoguard Timbercoat systems.
This advanced coating combines decorative finishing with enhanced smoke and flame retardant technology, helping reduce flame spread, toxic smoke production and flaming droplets during fire conditions.
Designed for both internal and selected external timber applications, SFR Dualcoat forms part of a complete fire protection system suitable for modern commercial, public and residential environments.

Fire Performance
- Designed to achieve BS EN Class B s1 d0 performance as part of a complete system.
- Complies with BS Class 1 and Class 0 surface spread of flame classifications.
- Can form part of systems achieving 30 or 60 minute fire resistance.
- Helps control smoke production and flaming droplets during fire exposure.
- Designed for use with Thermoguard Timbercoat Intumescent Basecoat.
How The System Works
- Thermoguard Timbercoat expands under fire conditions to form an insulating char barrier.
- SFR Dualcoat releases vapour-based fire suppressing compounds during fire exposure.
- Together, the system helps reduce flame spread, smoke hazards and heat penetration.
- The combined system is designed to improve both fire safety and decorative appearance.
Finish & Colour Options
- Available in Acrylic Matt and Acrylic Eggshell finishes.
- Over 4,000 RAL, BS and NCS colours available.
- Suitable for modern decorative architectural finishes.
- Strong and dark colours may require additional coats for full coverage.
- Metallic and fluorescent shades are not available within the system.
Application Information
- Apply over Thermoguard Timbercoat Intumescent Basecoat.
- Normally applied as 1 coat internally.
- External or damp environments may require 2 coats.
- Suitable for brush, roller and spray application.
- Allow all coats to dry fully before overcoating.
