Thermoguard Smoke & Flame Retardant Dualcoat represents a cutting-edge fire retardant topcoat and maintenance paint designed to be used in conjunction with Thermoguard Timbercoat for comprehensive fire protection for timber surfaces. Here’s a breakdown of its features and usage instructions:

**Features:**
– New generation fire retardant topcoat and maintenance paint.
– Can be utilized as part of a flame and fire retardant system for both internal and external timber surfaces previously protected with Thermoguard Timbercoat.
– Controls surface spread of flame and fire propagation, total smoke control, flaming droplets, and particulates according to BS EN Class B s1 d0 standards.
– Completes a system that meets new Fire Regulations standard BS EN Class B s1 d0 and complies with British Standard Class 1 and Class 0 Surface Spread of Flame for 30 & 60 minutes Fire Resistance.
– Available in Acrylic Matt or Acrylic Eggshell finishes in a wide range of colors from RAL, BS, and NCS color ranges (excluding fluorescent and metallic shades).
– Intumescent and water vapor action: Releases a vapor to suppress toxic gases and prevent flame spread when exposed to fire, while Thermoguard Timbercoat expands to create a barrier, insulating wood from heat and oxygen to prevent burning and fire penetration.

**Usage Instructions:**
– Apply 1 coat of Thermoguard Timbercoat Insulating Basecoat followed by 1 coat* of Thermoguard Smoke & Flame Retardant Dualcoat.
– Touch dry in 4 hours, overcoat in 6 hours. Ensure fully hard dry before applying the next coat, and only apply to dry timber in good drying conditions.
– For external or damp areas, apply 2 coats of Thermoguard Smoke & Flame Retardant Dualcoat. 2 coats may also be necessary for strong/dark colors.
– Spray equipment suggestions include Pressure Pot & Gun conventional units with a small compressor or Airless Graco 1500, 3500, or equivalent.
– UKAS Fire Test Standards: BS EN Class B s1 d0, BS Class 1 and Class 0.
– Project Fire Certification: A Certificate of Supply is available on request for projects for insurance, Fire and Building Control Authority, and Client Records.

**New Fire Regulations and Tests:**
– Explains the new fire standard BS EN test, which lasts 20 minutes with airflow and replaces the old BS 476 tests lasting 10 minutes with restricted airflow.
– Highlights the new standard for flamespread and heat release Class B, replacing Class O.
– Monitors smoke & gas levels (s1, s2, s3, s4) and flaming droplets or airborne particulates (dO, d1, d2, d3).
